At Scan My Pics - Video & Photo Transfer Services, we pride ourselves on being transparent with customers and answering any questions they may have.

Many times customers are reaching out to us for the first time to inquire around a particular service, we are happy to have an extended chat with customer about our process if desired.

Q: I am interested in your service, but do not want my memories shipped out to another location, will they be safe?

A: Yes, your memories will be safe. We complete every project that we receive in-house. All your memories, whether, video tapes or pictures, film reels, slides will be cataloged, labeled and will handled by us at our location.


Q: What is the average turnaround time of a video tape to DVD transfer?

A: The average turnaround time for a video tape to DVD transfer depends on two factors: 1. how many tapes you want to be transferred, and 2. how long each video tape is. The average turnaround time is 2-4 weeks.


Q: Do you offer photo or document printing services?

A: We do offer printing services for special projects. However, we typically just scan the photos or documents to digital email or USB Flash Drive.


Q: I have old 16mm & 8mm/Super 8 film reels, Can you transfer these types of reels to DVD or USB Flash Drive/Cloud Services?

A: We do offer 8mm & Super-8 Silent Film Transfer Services. We can transfer your old film reels up to 9 inches in sizes.
Our pricing is $5.00 per smaller 3' & 5' reels, and $8.00 per larger 7' & 9' reels.

We do not currently have the ability to transfer 16mm film reels.


Q: I have a video tape that is only half-full in length, do you offer any discount for tapes that are not full?


A: We offer a $5.00 per tape charge for tapes that are not full. Additionally, we offer a Bulk Video to DVD & Video to Digital (USB) package of $8.00 per tape if your entire order is larger than 15 tapes.


Q: What resolution do you typically scan photos at?


A: We scan our customers photos at different resolutions based on what type of photos you have. We typically scan print photos at either 600 or 800 DPI, while we scan slides and photo negatives  at 2000 DPI.

We do also have the ability to scan photo albums; typically we scan photos that are in photo albums at 800 DPI.
